www.youtube.com for part 2 The Israeli assault on Gaza is entering its thirteenth day. Some 700 Palestinians have been killed, with many thousands more wounded, and a humanitarian crisis is mounting. Ten Israelis have died, four by friendly fire. A ceasefire has not been reached, and the offensive continues. We host a debate between Martin Indyk, the former US ambassador to Israel and Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs during the Clinton administration, director of the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution and author of, Innocent Abroad: An Intimate Account of American Peace Diplomacy in the Middle East, and Norman Finkelstein, author of several books, including The Holocaust Industry, Image and Reality of the Israel-Palestine Conflict and Beyond Chutzpah. www.democracynow.org

  1. @oldjoe5 Maybe the Professor should serve in the Israeli army and fight against the filth in Lebanon called Hizballah. And the filth in Gaza called hamas. Then the professor may have a little understanding of the distorted mentality of those he is defending. Poor Jewish people, to have an imbecile like this to say he represents you. We Lebanese understand the reality like you, that his sort of imbecile is a useful idiot, as the Kremlin used to call them. Go professor to Nasrallah.

    @spoffmoffat Cheers, I’ve just read the article

    Gidday.

    Australia has a very powerful Israeli Lobby. A month or so after a meeting with them (can’t seem to post the url so Google “Rudd Tries To Woo Jewish Lobby Peter Hartcher”)
    ….Rudd was gone.

    Ostensibly, the coup was about mining tax but that seems to be forgotten. In my view it was win/win for the lobby. Either reinstate the pro-Israel Tories or install the pro-Israel Gillard at the head of Labour.
    I’m a Kiwi also & share most of your music and literature tastes.

    Dude looks like Dick Cheney’s brother, acts like I would imagine him to also.

  5. stoprainingonme says:

    @spoffmoffat I’m a kiwi so I appreciate your ANZAC reference. :-)
    Do you know why Australia has begun voting with Israel and USA (and a bunch of pacific atolls).

  6. algeriealgerienne says:

    Israel wants peace? have you seen the expansion of the settlements since 1948? peace yes, peace for Israeli Zionists means Palestinians are sanctioned to 2nd class citizens, all internal political affairs are supervised by Israel, and all settlements continue to expand. In the real world this isn’t peace.. it’s called OCCUPATION.

  7. algeriealgerienne says:

    @tomer21today

    You know the only think you care about is that he doesn’t care for the fate of the Jewish people, and you just added “Palestinian” to flower up your speech. Of course you can’t call him Anti-Simitic.. what Jews in Israel are Semitic? close to none.

  8. unabomberman says:

    Finkelpimp rocks hard.

    Lady’s got one funky eye.

  9. noaid2israel says:

    @oldjoe5 … You got that right, Martin Indyk just about shits when he realizes that his total bullshit will be challenged. Finklestein is awesome, but Amy really didn’t need to have him there … she could have ripped Indyk a new asshole on her own. It’s very easy to see when Indyk is lying …. it’s when his lips are moving.

  10. TheCesny says:

    @tomer21today and what makes you say that?

  11. tomer21today says:

    @TheCesny I can. There are gay homophobes, there are african american racists and there are jewish anti-semites. But im not calling him an anti-semite. I don’t believe he hates jews. I think he just cares more about his own bank account and ill deserved “prestige”, then he does about the fate and well being of the jewish people. Or the Palestinian people for that matter.

  12. TheCesny says:

    @tomer21today It’s too bad Finkelstein is a Jew, you can not call him an antisemite.

  13. tomer21today says:

    @TheCesny How is demonizing and denouncing the jewish state “honouring” the jewish suffering?Anyone who lays the blame for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict solely on ONE side is doing a disservice. You can’t spend your life blaming Israel without touching upon the Hamas and the mistakes that were made on the palastinian side. In general Israel wants peace and the hammas doesnt. The Palestinian people are caught in the middle. Zionism is not a bad word. Well, maybe for a Finkelstein fan it is

  14. TheCesny says:

    @tibherius On contrary to what tomer is saying, watch ” The Crocodile Tears of Norman Finkelstein “. It’s to honour his parents and the suffering of the jew community that Finkelstein is flying around the world to speak. I don’t think you could deny that without being a zionist liar…

  16. dethroned81 says:

    Indyk show the reaction of Hamass as the main issue! while the reaction is a normal fact of been affected by terror of a country not organization I mean Israel!

  17. tomer21today says:

    @tibherius debate is not about lying or telling the truth. Most debaters would never be caught dead in a lie. Debate is about taking facts and forming them into a stance, or an opinion. If Israel removes all their checkpoints and the blockade, the Hammas will use its new found freedom to attack Israeli citizens. That has always been what the Hammas has said and it is clearly stated in their charter. The day hammas will want peace, this conflict will end. Poor Finkelstein will be out of work.

  18. tibherius says:

    @tomer21today ok i give you that one he is ugly and but he sold his people? he is pointing whats whats wrong with the state of isreal and lets not talk about the parents and think why no one wants to devate him? i tell you why because they cant stand the facts he brings i havent caught him in a lie

  19. tomer21today says:

    @tibherius Im just talking about his physical appearance. The fact that he sold his people (and his parents) so that he could fly around the world to speak at campuses and events is besides the point. No matter what your stance on the Israel – Palestine conflict is, I would be embarrassed to have this man represent my views.

  20. catch22112 says:

    @tibherius -
    nO he does not say the truth! all he’s views comes out of his biased POV, and his self hatred mental syndrom. One can’t ignore the given fact that:

    The destruction of IL is a central key narrative of the palestinians political policy. I, a citizen of IL who lives in the mid east have a big interest to achieve peace with the palestinians and the countries that surrounds? us.

  21. tibherius says:

    @catch22112 indeed i see him only speaking the truth but challeng me with facts tell me when he is liying and how? or do u think bush said the truth too about iraq?

  22. catch22112 says:

    @tibherius -
    As you already know to well now, “Truth is in the eye of the beholder”

  23. tibherius says:

    @catch22112 rat so telling the truth it is call rat now?

  24. tibherius says:

    @tomer21today retard why and how?

  25. debunkingdebunkers says:

    Yeah, it is a resistance
